Milan celebrates Vero Volleyball: Paola Egonu and teammates honored at Palazzo Marino

Vero Volley Milano was the protagonist, on Thursday, of the institutional celebration wanted by the Municipality of Milan to pay tribute to Paola Egonu and her teammates as winners of the first national trophy of a Milanese volleyball team, the Italian Supercup won last October 18 against Conegliano.

The girls coached by Stefano Lavarini found themselves, together with president Alessandra Marzari, in the Sala dell’Orologio of Palazzo Marino, where they were welcomed by the mayor of Milan, Beppe Sala: “I am happy to receive you here today to celebrate this important success for Italian and Milanese volleyball– said the first citizen -Through what you have done and through your profession you are an example for our city and for the new generations”.
“I thank you because as Vero Volleyball you do a lot in our territory and in the province, from the women’s team to the men’s team up to the youth teams, and you represent a point of reference – added Sala -Our city is a city that gathers many sports, with some difficulties for some regarding infrastructure, but those who live in the city need sports that is discipline, example, dedication and cohesion. The reason I wanted to receive you today is to thank you, not only for your recent success in the Super Cup, but especially because you are an undisputed example of quality”.
During the ceremony, which was also attended by the Milan City Council’s Sports Councillor Martina Riva, Vero Volleyball captain Paola Egonu presented Mayor Sala with a Vero Volleyball jersey and a club pennant, receiving in return the City Council pennant and sports medal.
