In the Milan derby scheduled for Sunday night at 8:45 p.m. there will be no Denzel Dumfries. For days there had been talk of the champion’s possible forfeit: in recent weeks he has been suffering from an ankle problem, and training with the Dutch national team has worsened the situation.

Cristian Chivu confirmed Dumfries’s absence: “Everyone is fine except Denzel who had an ankle problem. Unfortunately he will not be there. Thuram has not missed a training session since he rejoined the group. He didn’t even go to the national team and stayed with us. He needed some more training and to regain the condition he lost in that month”.

The helmsman of the Nerazzurri then analyzed the match against AC Milan: “It is a different match because it is beautiful, in mondovision. It should be prepared in the best way as we have always done, there are always three points up for grabs but we know what this match represents. We understand how much the fans care about having a peaceful Monday and not being teased by friends. We know what we have to do, the whole world is watching us”.

“We know the quality of Milan players. They are lethal in space and in tight, however, this should not change our plans. Then in the course of the match the tactical theme can be twisted on both sides, and we need to prepare a team capable of dealing with more moments and being able to do more things. We have to take advantage of the players&#8217 experience, qualities and characteristics. The most important things are the principles of play” h concluded Chivu.
