Atalanta’s ranking continues to weep, increasingly distant from the Champions zone, but there is no shortage of demands for its players. Gianluca Scamacca, on the pitch for only one half (the second) in Naples and the author of the 1-3 goal with a weighty performance, is back in the crosshairs of West Ham, a club he knows very well and which is fighting not to relegate.

Scamacca had landed at the Hammers on July 26, 2022 for 36 million plus 6 million in bonuses, the highest transfer ever recorded by Sassuolo. In the Premier he chose number 7, becoming the eighth Italian to wear that jersey after Di Canio, Di Michele, Diamanti, Nocerino, Borriello, Ogbonna and Zaza. The debut came on August 7 against Manchester City, then the first European goal on August 18 against Viborg and the first Premier goal on October 1 against Wolverhampton.

In the summer there had been talk of Roma, but it was with Gian Piero Gasperini that Scamacca seemed to have found his size, becoming an offensive reference and contributing to Atalanta’s Europa League triumph. Two heavy injuries, however, slowed his growth. Now the Orobica club is ready to listen to possible proposals, provided they do not fall below 25 million. But it will not be easy for the Fidene footballer to leave Bergamo; Raffaele Palladino will have the task of finding him space…
