Fiorentina market, a defense reinforcement and an important renewal on the horizon

The draw against Juventus on Saturday afternoon allowed Fiorentina to add a point to its standings, which, however, remains deficient after a poor start to the season in Serie A, marked by a resounding absence of victories in 12 days. The club, which has changed course on the bench with the arrival of Paolo Vanoli and in the technical area, with the promotion of Roberto Goretti to the role of sporting director, is working to apply the necessary corrections, and in this sense the January market session could prove crucial.
The Viola, in the first half of the season, have been in the process of making a major change in the league standings.
The violets, first of all, want to reinforce the defense, which with 19 goals conceded is the second worst in the league, behind only Udinese (20 goals taken by the bianconeri): according to the Polish portal Meczyki, the violets would have sounded out the ground with the’agency that looks after the interests of Przemyslaw Wisniewski, a central defender currently at Spezia, whom Vanoli knows well for having coached him at Venezia.
Wisniewski has already played in Serie A, in the second part of the 2022-2023 season, collecting 14 league appearances in the top division, to which is added statistically also the one in the play-off for permanence in A against Hellas Verona, won by the Scaligeri in Reggio Emilia 3-1.
The purple leadership is also busy on the renewals front: as reported by Sky Sport, the club is reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Dodô, a 1998-born Brazilian flanker in his fourth season in Florence. The contract extension (whose current expiration is June 2027) would allow the club to focus its efforts on other roles to strengthen, fending off possible assaults as early as January.
