Olimpia Milano: Leo Dell’Orco sheds light on Ettore Messina’s step backward

Ballacanestro Olimpia Milano through a note announced that Ettore Messina has left the position of Head Coach of the first team.

“This decision was made by mutual agreement with President Leo Dell’Orco, thus anticipating the transition with Peppe Poeta, who assumes the role of Head Coach. Ettore Messina will continue to be part of the’organization in his leadership role, thus ensuring continuity and competence in the club thanks to the experience gained over the years” it reads.

“I would like to express my most sincere thanks to Ettore Messina for the successes we have achieved together, from the championships we have won, to the Italian Cups and Super Cups, as well as reaching the Final Four in 2021. With the same conviction, I wish the best to Peppe Poeta, confident that he will be able to lead the team with passion and determination” added the white-and-red No. 1.

The’rotation comes after the championship knockout against Pallacanestro Trieste.
