Agreement with FIBA, World and European Basketball Championships on Sky and NOW until 2029

For the next four years, the great champions and the strongest national men’s and women’s teams will compete for world and continental titles on Sky and streamed on NOW.

Thanks to the multi-year agreement reached with the International Basketball Federation – FIBA, the main FIBA men’s and women’s events of the four-year period 2025-2029 will be broadcast on Sky and NOW:

Starting November 27, 2025, on Sky and NOW fans will be able to watch:
The qualifying challenges (of 2025-2027) and the final phase of the 2027 men’s World Cup (“FIBA Basketball World Cup Qatar 2027”);
The qualifying tournament and final phase of the 2026 Women’s World Cup (“FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup Germany 2026”);
The men’s and women’s qualification tournaments for the 2028 Olympics (“FIBA Men’s & Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournaments Los Angeles 2028”);
The final stages of the women’s European Championships in 2027 (“FIBA Women’s EuroBasket Belgium-Finland-Lithuania-Sweden 2027”) and 2029;
The continental championships of Africa, America and Asia in 2027 and 2029;
The qualifying challenges and final phase of the 2029 men’s European Championships (“FIBA EuroBasket Estonia-Greece-Slovenia-Spain 2029”).

Coming up are the first two challenges valid for qualification for the 2027 men’s World Cup. Italy-Iceland on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at 8 p.m., with pre-game from 7:30 p.m., live on Sky Sport Basket and NOW, with commentary by Flavio Tranquillo and Davide Pessina, interviews by Gaia Accoto and studio with Giulia Cicchinè and Matteo Soragna. Already on the eve of the game, tomorrow Wednesday, Nov. 26, the new National Team’s head coach Luca Banchi will be the live guest from Tortona of the Euroleague pre-game on Sky Sport Basket and NOW. Sunday, November 30, 2025 will be the turn of Lithuania-Italy live at 5:30 p.m. on Sky Sport Basket and NOW, with commentary by Geri De Rosa and Davide Pessina.

The multi-year agreement with FIBA will further enrich the House of Sport’s basketball offering and increasingly make the new Sky Sport Basket channel the one-stop destination for basketball fans around the world. Sky Sport Basket already brings together Italian, European and U.S. basketball with Serie A – LBA, the Italian Super Cup, Coppa Italia, EuroLeague and EuroCup, exclusively until 2028, the NBA and WNBA with a wide selection of matches.
