Sigh of relief for Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese star player has been pardoned and will therefore be regularly available for his debut at the 2026 World Cup finals.

FIFA upheld the appeal filed by the Portuguese federation over the expulsion he received against Ireland, choosing to apply a minimal penalty.

The Disciplinary Committee in fact imposed only one day of disqualification on Ronaldo, who has already served by skipping the Nov. 16 match against Armenia.

Two additional days with suspended execution will be added to this, which will only be triggered if CR7 incurs new disciplinary incidents during the relevant period.
