Andrea Trinchieri, new hypothesis pops up for return to the bench

Since last June 25, the date on which he terminated, anticipating by a few days the natural expiration, the contract that bound him to Zalgiris Kaunas, Andrea Trinchieri is waiting for a new call that, according to Serbian media, could arrive in the coming days: the Milanese coach, in fact, is in pole position for the Partizan bench, according to a report by the Serbian portal Mozzart Sport.
The Belgrade-based club is indeed looking for a new coach after Zeljko Obradovic submitted his resignation and was accepted by the club, in the aftermath of the ninth defeat in thirteen Euroleague games, in Athens against Panathinaikos, with a score of 91-69. Trinchieri previously coached Partizan, from late 2018 to mid-2020.
Three trophies Trinchieri has already won at the helm of Partizan: in 2019 he won the Serbian Cup (76-74 against historic rivals Red Star) and the ABA Super Cup (99-77 against Cedevita Olimpija), while in 2020 he repeated his success in the Serbian National Cup by defeating Red Star again by a narrow margin (85-84).
Andrea Trinchieri, born in 1968, began his career on the bench in 1998 as assistant coach of Olimpia Milano, a role he held until 2004. He then coached Triboldi Soresina (now Vanoli Cremona), JuveCaserta, Veroli Basket, Cantù Basketball, Unics Kazan, Bamberg, Partizan, Bayern Munich and Zalgiris Kaunas. In 2013 and 2014, he also coached the men’s national team of Greece.
