Benetton Rugby announced on Wednesday that it has reached an agreement to renew the contract until June 30, 2028 of second line Riccardo Favretto, one of the ‘enfant du pays’ of the green-and-white club involved in the URC and, this year, in the European Challenge Cup that will start in December.

“I am thrilled to continue my adventure in Treviso, the historic club of my city that has seen me grow both as a player and as a person– said Favretto -. I am convinced that over these years we have created a solid group, with the motivation and the right qualities to build something great”.

“I thank the management and the whole club for the trust and I will continue to give the best of myself to fight together with my teammates in the green-and-white jersey” added the Benetton scrum man, who since 2020 has been a permanent member of the Treviso club’s roster, with whom he had previously played as ‘permit player’.

“We are happy to confirm Riccardo for the next two sporting seasons– said Antonio Pavanello, general manager of Benetton. “This is a young man who grew up in our youth ranks and who, over the years, has been able to make the most of every opportunity he has been given”.

“Thanks to his constant commitment and ability to always be ready, he has managed to carve out an important role for himself within Benetton Rugby and the Italian national team, even in the starting role. His ductility, combined with his technical and physical qualities, makes him a profile of great reliability. We are proud of his path and convinced that he can continue to grow and make a fundamental contribution to our team” Pavanello concluded.
