Williams, Carlos Sainz hunting for confirmation in Qatar

A week after the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Formula 1 returns to the track this weekend with the Qatar Grand Prix, the penultimate round of the 2025 World Championship. The Lusail circuit will also stage the’last Sprint Race of the season.
“It“s great to leave Las Vegas with a good haul of points after finishing in P5, so we’ll try to carry that momentum into Qatar as well,– said Carlos Sainz to the official Williams channels.
Being a Sprint weekend we will have to get into the swing of things right away and, considering that this circuit usually doesn’t particularly suit our car and can prove to be quite challenging for us, it won”.
“However, we have learned useful pointers from the last few races that we can apply immediately, thus hoping to minimize our weaknesses. We will try to make the most of every opportunity and continue this triptych of races strongly!” concluded the Spanish rider.
The weekend in Qatar includes a single free practice session on Friday at 4:30 p.m. local time (2:30 p.m. in Italy), followed by Sprint Qualifying at 8:30 p.m. (6:30 p.m. Italian time). Saturday’s Sprint will start at 5 p.m. local (3 p.m. in Italy), while qualifying for the race is scheduled for 9 p.m. (7 p.m. Italian). Sunday’s race will start at 7 p.m. local (5 p.m. in Italy).
