The year 2026 will be a crucial crossroads for MotoGP: at the end of the World Championship, the contracts of many riders, including those of Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia, will expire, and anything can happen. In an interview with MotoGp.com, the Catalan rider spoke openly about what could happen a year from now, and he did not rule out any options for the future. “This will be the most complicated rider market. During my career in MotoGP we have never changed the rules. It’s not going to be easy to predict what the best bike will be or what will be the best design for you, no one can promise you the best bike, you have to follow your instincts. Do I continue? Yes, if I think I can win”.

Marc Marquez wanted to send a message to teammate Pecco Bagnaia, in great difficulty this season: “We need him. We need him to get back to his level, he is super sensitive with the bike and we will need him to develop it. Pecco is fast, his speed is still there. He is showing it in some sessions, he showed it in some races. I mean in the Japanese GP he scored 37 points and I pushed but I could never catch him. We’ll see this winter, sometimes it only takes two months to reset everything. So December and January will be the best time for Pecco to reset everything and start again from testing in Malaysia”.

Andrea Iannone, harsh words on Marc Marquez

The relationship with general manager Gigi Dall’Igna is very strong: “His mentality is the best to be the head of a team because he organizes everything in the right way. He believes in me, I once told him ‘on this track I suck’ and he replied ‘you never suck, on a track you go worse or better’. This sentence helped me a lot”, admitted rider number 93. “Aprilia is growing, KTM and Honda are also improving but in the end I am not worried, I am in Ducati. I am in the best team and I have the best bike”, continued the nine-time world champion.

The rivalry with his brother Alex: “We did something extraordinary in the history of MotoGP. We had two options: fight and create tension between me and Alex or be closer than ever. And… we both chose to be closer than ever, but it was not something we were talking about, it was more a feeling of helping each other. One day we sat across from each other and I told him ‘we are brothers, we have a lot of respect for each other, but this is racing and something can happen, because it can happen, you can pass another driver and lose control. If something happens, we are brothers and tomorrow is always another day’. And we shook hands”.
