Como now dreams, but Cesc Fabregas sets clear stakes

Friday night’s success against Sassuolo in the opening match of the thirteenth round of Serie A allowed Como to hook, at least for one night, the two teams already paired in fourth place, Inter and Bologna, and to move closer to the summit occupied by Roma, which has just three points more for the moment. Goals scored by Douvikas in the first half and Alberto Moreno in the second made the Larian fans dream, but coach Cesc Fabregas urged them to remain anchored in reality, reminding them of the work to be done beyond the results obtained in this so far exciting season for the white and blue colors.
“For me what matters is not to be fourth, it is to take the field in a certain way and produce a certain kind of performance – Fabregas told the microphones of Sky Sports. “We didn’t take goals, we scored two and we had chances to score more: that is, for me, the most important aspect. Our goal is to attack the opponent when they are in possession, today some smears there were especially in the first half, when Sassuolo managed to go forward often, while in the second we went much better. That of reaggression is a concept that we have been carrying on since the first training sessions”.
The Catalan coach, therefore, remains down-to-earth and reminds everyone that his philosophy focuses on playing more than on results: “Winning trophies? I prefer to live in the moment: I feel lucky to be here in Como, there’s a different philosophy and there’s time and a way to make these guys grow, with humility. What did they say to me at the end of the game when they stood in a circle? I had actually promised them a surprise if they scored a goal from a loose ball, so at the end of the game they asked me what it was about. The problem, however, was that I had not thought about it” concluded, with a joke and a smile, Como’s coach.
