Mercedes driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli in the after-race of the Qatar GP apologized to Max Verstappen for the smear in the final part of the race. The Italian driver in the finale made a mistake that allowed Lando Norris to overtake him and take his fourth position: two points that could prove crucial at the end of the World Championship.

After the clarification with the world champion driver, Antonelli said he is convinced that the Dutch star will win his fifth title: “He has 12 points to make up, for me he makes it, yes. At the end he is also in a position where he has nothing to lose, so he definitely has a good chance”.

The relationship between of two riders is very good: the two have been seen chatting often in the paddock. Antonelli also has a goal in Abu Dhabi: to overtake Ferrarista Lewis Hamilton in sixth place in the Formula 1 World Championship standings.

At the moment the British driver, who finished the weekend without points, has only a two-length lead over the Italian.
