The results of the examinations to which Dusan Vlahovic underwent on Monday morning have arrived: “Following the muscle problem suffered during the Juventus – Cagliari match – reads the official website of Juventus -, this morning Dusan Vlahovic underwent radiological investigations at J|medical. Instrumental examinations showed a high-grade injury of the muscle – tendon junction of the left long adductor. Further medical consultations will be necessary to define the most appropriate therapeutic modalities”. This means that Luciano Spalletti will have to do without him for two months and thus, making two calculations, for at least fourteen games among all the various competitions, starting with tomorrow’s match against Udinese in the Coppa Italia.

The injury to Dusan Vlahovic could also have repercussions on the Juventus market, which in January seemed willing to consider possible offers for Jonathan David. The Canadian former Lille man is struggling mightily with the Bianconeri shirt and a number of Premier League clubs seemed to be on his trail, but Vlahovic’s trouble could block everything. In this scenario, Jonathan David would stay in Turin to try to play his cards and would certainly have more chances to do so given precisely the lack of competition from Vlahovic. The Canadian, who has also been approached in recent weeks by Milan, would have to play it out with Loïs Openda but Juventus’ commitments could guarantee both a good amount of minutes.

Dusan Vlahovic’s contract expires at the end of the season and negotiations for renewal are at a standstill: there is a great distance between supply and demand, a factor that has so far wrecked any attempt at extension talks. Last summer, the Serbian was sought by Massimiliano Allegri’s AC Milan but Juventus preferred to keep him in the hope that the contract situation would be resolved: this was not the case and now there are only a few months left before Vlahovic could leave Turin on a zero-parameter basis. The’former Fiorentina player at the moment is focused only on matters on the pitch and has confirmed this in recent interviews but it is undeniable that his name circulates a lot in market talk.
