Mike Maignan&#8217s contract issue is holding Milan in suspense: the strong Frenchman has an agreement with the club valid until June and negotiations for renewal are stuck. There’s a big difference between supply and demand, which is why talks set up months ago by Giorgio Furlani have broken down. Last summer Chelsea tried to sign Maignan but Milan opposed it, confident that a renewal deal could be struck. That was not the case, and now Igli Tare is evaluating various profiles to replace the Frenchman should he leave Milan in the summer.

A surprise hypothesis has surfaced in the last few hours: James Trafford is unhappy with his meager minutes at Manchester City and sees no future ahead given the competition from Gianluigi Donnarumma. According to English sources, the young star has reportedly asked his entourage to consider alternative options for a possible summer transfer. A number of Premier League clubs are on his trail (Newcastle first and foremost) and he will certainly not be a cheap shot, however, he has huge potential and could be the starter at his next club for a very long time given his young age. According to Transfermarkt he has a heat of 30 million euros.

In January, AC Milan could make a few moves: in recent days the name of Sergio Ramos has been insistently mentioned to the Rossoneri club. The rocky Spanish defender, who has never hidden a certain admiration for the Diavolo, has an expiring contract with Monterrey and has no intention of hanging up his boots. The former Real Madrid man wants to try one last European experience before saying goodbye to soccer and is looking for a top club willing to give him a chance to play. There will be the aspect concerning Sergio Ramos’ physical integrity to be checked: he will turn 40 in March and has played somewhat hiccupily in recent seasons.

In the winter soccer session, graft is also possible in the offensive department for Milan: eyes are on Niclas Füllkrug, a center forward on the run from Aston Villa. Thanks to his experience, the German could help Milan from the start to continue its fast march toward qualification for the next Champions League, an obligatory goal for the Diavolo. Raised in the ranks of Werder Bremen, Niclas Füllkrug is a center forward with great physicality who is skilled in headers. Füllkrug in August 2024 left Borussia Dortmund to move to West Ham: the Hammers shelled out 27 million euros to acquire him but something went wrong in England and the star forward did not settle in the Premier League.
