Jannik Sinner and Jasmine Paolini are the winners of the Best Tennis Player of the Year awards, in the men&#8217s and women&#8217s spheres, at the SuperTennis Awards. The recipients of the awards were announced on Friday, while the actual ceremony was postponed until a later date as a mark of respect for the passing a few days ago of Nicola Pietrangeli. In this way, the Federation wanted to celebrate the two Italian number ones in their respective rankings, who also put on a show in 2025, attracting the attention of fans. Not only Sinner and Paolini, however, will add a trophy to their trophy case.

Flavio Cobolli in fact won the award for the Impresa dell’Anno (in Davis Cup with the blue jersey), while Matteo Berrettini won the Lionheart award, also for his contribution in winning the third consecutive Salad Bowl. Lionhearted, on the other hand, is Sara Errani, who along with Paolini continues to excel in doubles, while Elisabetta Cocciaretto is the underdog slayer of the year thanks to her underdog successes that proved very important for the Azzurre’s victory in the Billie Jean King Cup. Teacher of the’Year is then Heribert Mayr, Jannik Sinner&#8217s first teacher: certainly a significant entry in terms of personal curricolum.

Francesco LuciveroForgotten Jannik Sinner, the’incredible prediction against the’South Tyrolean: photos

Jannik Sinner will return in January to the Australian Open as defending champion.
The'South Tyrolean's goal is to drop the hat trick in Melbourne.
He will first have to reckon with Carlos Alcaraz.
Sinner on the fast track looks like the favorite but there's someone who disagrees.
On the official website of the Slam won for the last two years by Jannik c'is an article with the emblematic title.
"Why Carlos Alcaraz will win the Australian Open in 2026".
"The 2025 season was unforgettable for Alcaraz, who won two Grand Slam titles in singles at the US Open and Roland Garros…".
"… eight titles in total (he reached nine consecutive finals between April and September) and won 71 matches in a single season, his personal record".
"Focusing particularly on his recent success at the U.S. Open, Alcaraz will have high hopes that he can finally go all the way at Melbourne Park".
Just a hint of Sinner, who won the last two editions.
"Standing in his way could be archrival Jannik Sinner, whom Alcaraz beat in both the finals at Roland Garros and the US Open".
Australians have "forgotten" Sinner’s achievements at Wimbledon and the Atp Finals.

Also awarded were Lorenzo Musetti as Most Improved Player, Jacomo Vasamì as Best Next Gen Player and Stefano Cobolli as Best Coach. As for other awards, Hegor Di Gioia won the one reserved for wheelchair tennis, Flavio Abbate and Giulia Dal Pozzo were named Best Player of the Year in padel, while Mattia Spoto is the Best Player in beach tennis.
