Third consecutive elimination in Q1 for Lewis Hamilton: this figure alone is enough to explain the severity of the crisis into which the British driver has sunk, who is ending his first year with Ferrari as badly as he could. Having started out with great ambitions, the seven-time world champion has seen his enthusiasm wane bit by bit, until finally collapsing in the last, very bad outings in the World Championship. The third Q1 elimination in a row hurts badly for the British driver, who was almost outraged at the end of official practice. After qualifying (he will start from 16th place) Hamilton tried to restrain himself in front of the microphones.

The’former Mercedes champion responded in monosyllables to reporters, making very terse statements: “I can&#8220t describe what I have in my head right now”. “Anger? I have a lot of it now inside of me and there is not much more I can add”. Definitely more talkative is Charles Leclerc, who will start from the fifth position on the grid. The Monegasque, however, did not hide his disappointment: “Not racing to win hurts, it hurts a lot, but then I still have to think that I race in F1 and I drive for Ferrari” are his words to Sky. “This year if I think about my performance I can only be satisfied”, he pointed out.

The’analysis of the tests: “It was very complicated to pass Q2, I was very happy with my lap and this helped us then for Q3 as well. However, fifth position is disappointing. We knew it was going to be a difficult season, because we left the development of the SF-25 very early to think about the 2026 one, before the first qualifying next year I do not want to say anything”. Instead, he&#8217s more charged than ever Max Verstappen, who on Sunday will play for the World Championship starting from the pole position in the Abu Dhabi GP: “The car was fine in qualifying, we found small improvements”.

“There will be an exciting race, I hope. And I hope I can maintain this pace during the race as well. We will see what we can do”, said the Red Bull champion.
