Inter Miami MLS champion, Lionel Messi raises his 48th career trophy

Immarcesible. Lionel Messi, at 38 years of age, has once again made a difference. La Pulce dragged Inter Miami to victory in the MLS title. After a season of applause, the Argentine was also decisive in the final: two assists in Inter Miami’s victory in the grand final against the Vancouver Whitecaps. For the Florida franchise it was the first success in MLS in its history. As always, it was up to Lionel Messi to make the big dream come true.

Named MVP of the tournament, the former Barcelona and PSG star told ESPN: “A beautiful and exciting moment for us, for the people of Miami, to be able to reach the MLS goal. It is quite a new club, so to speak. We had won titles before but this was the real goal, to win the MLS and be at the top of the U.S. league, and fortunately we succeeded. We were lucky to play at home, a great joy for the people; so, we have to enjoy it and celebrate properly”.

Thanks to this umpteenth title, Pulce has now reached 48 trophies won in his career (third championship won, after La Liga and Ligue 1). Since arriving in Miami in July 2023, the Argentine is on his third title with Inter Miami with whom he had already raised to the sky the Leagues Cup in 2023 and the Supporters’ Shield in 2024. Mind you, having renewed his own contract with Inter Miami until 2028, it is clear that the Argentine is aiming for more trophies, perhaps to reach 50. From someone like him, it is fair to expect anything.
