The Blue and the Spaniard, world number two and one respectively, shared the spoils in terms of Grand Slam titles: Jannik won the Australian Open and Wimbledon, in the very final with the Murcian, while Carlos triumphed at Roland Garros and the Us Open, defeating the South Tyrolean in the final on both occasions.
