Juventus, Luciano Spalletti smiles: recovered a big man for Pafos

After the narrow defeat to Napoli, Juventus is hard at work preparing for the delicate Champions League home match against Pafos, scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 9 p.m. at the Allianz Stadium in Turin. The Bianconeri, who start widely favored, are obliged to win to stay in the play-off zone but will have to watch out for the Cypriots, capable of defeating Villarreal in front of their own fans and drawing away with Monaco. Coach Luciano Spalletti can smile ahead of the match against Pafos: Gleison Bremer, in fact, has returned to training with the group.

The Brazilian central, who was forced to undergo selective arthroscopic meniscectomy surgery, has not played a match since last Sept. 27, when the Old Lady was stopped at home by Atalanta. The Tuscan coach is expected to summon Bremer for Wednesday night&#8217s challenge with the Cypriots with the aim of putting some minutes in his legs, ahead of the next complicated Serie A challenges against Bologna, at the Dall’Ara on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 8:45 p.m., and against Roma, on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 8:45 p.m. at Allianz Stadium, in which the Brazilian defender could finally return as a starter.

Spalletti knows that with Bremer in the center of the defense, everything would become much easier. The former Torino defender has proven to be, by far, the best defender currently in the Bianconeri squad. The many injuries that have affected his performance in the last period seem to be behind him. Bremer is pawing the ground and hopes to resume his role as the leader of Juventus’ back pack as soon as possible. The end of the ordeal is now near. But the good news for Spalletti does not end there: Daniele Rugani has also returned to training with the rest of his teammates and his return represents a viable alternative in defense for the Juventus coach.
