The defensive revolution Inter is preparing is just months away. The management is quietly working to rebuild the defensive department, aware that the summer will bring profound changes. The guideline is clear: focus on players who are ready, reliable and already broken in at the international level. Two cornerstones seem already defined: Manuel Akanji, who arrived on loan from Manchester City and is destined to be redeemed for 15 million, and Mlacic, a concrete target on which the club would like to accelerate as early as January. On the outgoing side, the goodbyes of Acerbi and De Vrij appear increasingly likely, while the position of Bisseck remains in the balance.

Meanwhile, the list of followed profiles continues to grow: from Joel Ordonez of Club Brugge to Oumar Soletof Udinese, to Tarik Muharemovicof Sassuolo. International names also remain under observation, such as Upamecano, Min-Jae Kim and Marc Guéhi, viable avenues, however, only in case of favorable economic conditions. One thing is certain: the future Nerazzurri defense will arise from targeted and already addressed choices. The generational replacement can no longer be postponed, it being understood that everything will still revolve around Alessandro Bastoni who, unless there are really unrenounceable pharaonic offers, will remain in his place on the center left.

On Tuesday night, Inter came out of the Champions League match against Liverpool: Cristian Chivu&#8217s team was beaten 1-0. The match was decided by a penalty converted by Dominik Szoboszlai a few minutes before the triple whistle but the episode caused an avalanche of controversy. The match director decided to award the penalty for a holding by Alessandro Bastoni on Florian Wirtz but, according to many, the contact was too light to justify the referee&#8217s decision to award the penalty kick in favor of the English champions. From the studios of Sky Goran Pandev threw gasoline on the fire.

“Now it will not be easy to qualify for the round of 16 – analyzed the former Macedonian center forward -. They come Arsenal and Dortmund after two defeats in a row that do not hurt, but hurt badly. Inter didn’t deserve to lose to Liverpool, the Nerazzurri&#8217s game in my opinion was good and the most fair result was a draw. A very similar situation to what we saw in Madrid against Simeone&#8217s Atletico, so it is very heavy. The match was decided by the referee and Inter did not deserve to lose, this is my opinion”. Goran Pandev&#8217s words made the rounds on the web and many Inter players applauded the analysis of the former Nerazzurri striker.
