Udinese, against Napoli Kosta Runjaic wants to play it out

Udinese coach Kosta Runjaic spoke in a press conference ahead of Sunday’s home match against Napoli: “No one likes to lose at home, with Genoa it was not the result we wanted, but that’s soccer. We can do better, approach the match better, put in the right intensity and anger, all the things we lacked. We talked about it during the week, and now we have a great chance against a strong team”.

For a team like ours it is important to be strong at home, we know the difficulties Udinese has had at home in recent years and we are working on it. We want to show that in front of our fans we take the field with the right courage and energy and we can do that already against Napoli”.

“Against the bigs and against other teams are two different types of matches, but for me it is crucial to approach the match with the right intensity regardless of the opponent. Playing counterattack is easier, in some games we had less possession but the team worked well and we took advantage of the chances, while with Genoa we had the ball but that did not lead to much and once again we made mistakes.”

“We have ups and downs because this is our level, we have many young people who need time, but I am calm and focused on the goal, which is to find more consistency. We all have to take responsibility, my job is to oil the mechanisms of the team, give it the right foundation and put it in the conditions to express itself at its best. We want to do well by maintaining our style of play, and if all goes well we can also score against Napoli”.
