Fight at the opposite poles of the Premier League the one scheduled at the Emirates Stadium, where top-ranked Arsenal hosts Wolverhampton runners-up Wolverhampton. Nineteen positions and 31 points separate the two teams in the standings, but the Gunners have to deal with several absences and a few formation doubts.

Mikel Arteta will not be able to count on Riccardo Calafiori (disqualified), as well as the injured Max Dowman, Cristhian Mosquera, Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Magalhaes and Kai Havertz. The condition of Declan Rice, struggling with a flu problem, and William Saliba and Jurrien Timber, both suffering from minor ailments, remain in doubt. Should they recover, Rice is expected to complete the midfield with Odegaard and Norgaard, while up front there is room for the Saka-Gyokeres-Eze trident.

On the opposite front, Rob Edwards’ Wolves arrive in London without five pawns: Rodrigo Gomes, Marshall Munetsi, Leon Chiwone, Daniel Bentley and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde. No players are in doubt, with the lineup expected to confirm the blocking seen in recent outings: Johnstone between the posts, a three-man defense with Krejci, Agbadou and Toti, outfielders Tchatchoua and Gomes, while Andre and Wolfe will act in the middle. Up front, Lopez behind the Arokodare-Strand Larsen pair.

Probable lineups

Arsenal (4-3-3): Raya; White, Timber, Hincapie, Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard, Norgaard, Rice; Saka, Gyokeres, Eze. All. Arteta.

Wolverhampton (3-4-1-2): Johnstone; Krejci, Agbadou, Toti; Tchatchoua, Gomes, Andre, Wolfe; Lopez; Arokodare, Strand Larsen. All. Edwards.
