Juan Cabal launches Juventus: Bologna beaten and overtaken

Juventus expurgated Bologna, returned to winning ways after the painful knockout in Naples and went on to overtake the Felsinei themselves in the standings. Thanks to Juan Cabal, author of the goal of the 1-0 at the Dall’Ara stadium that brings the Bianconeri back to fifth place in Serie A. Fourth, just enough to return to the Champions League zone, is moreover just one point away (although Roma still has to play its match against Como, scheduled for the evening of Monday, Dec. 15). Good signs for Luciano Spalletti, after perhaps the team’s best performance since his arrival. The bad moment continues for Vincenzo Italiano’s Rossoblù, who have picked up just one point in their last three league games.
Bologna got off to a strong start, with Di Gregorio decisive within seconds on Pobega and then on Orsolini. Cambiaghi also tries, then Juventus grows. Bravo Ravaglia on Yildiz, who when he makes himself dangerous again is closed down by Zortea. David protests after a contact in the area with Lucumì, then finds the way to the goal, which, however, is not validated for offside. The match remains extremely vibrant, as confirmed by the crossbar hit by Zortea in the recovery of the first half.
.
The resumption opens with another refereeing episode, this time contested by Bologna: a possible hand in the box on Cambiaghi’s initiative does not lead to a penalty. Instead, at 64′ the goal arrives, and Juventus scores it. Yildiz crosses into the box on the development of a corner, Cabal anticipates Zortea and strikes it in behind Ravaglia. The hosts also remained in ten men for the direct red against Heggem, who at 69′ stopped with bad Openda launched to the net, and the result did not change anymore. Not even after another contact in the area, this time between Conceiçao and Lucumì, and attempts by the’former Bernardeschi and Openda.
It should be noted that Juventus will face Roma on Saturday, December 20, in a clash that is even more important at this point for the race toward the Champions League. Bologna, on the other hand, will stop until beyond Christmas, engaged in the Italian Super Cup.
