After the missteps of AC Milan, stopped at San Siro by Sassuolo (2-2) and Napoli, narrowly defeated in Udine (0-1), Inter also did not make a mistake, beating Genoa and moving to the top of the standings. At Ferraris it ends 2-1 for the Nerazzurri who close with a double lead, signed Bisseck-Lautaro Martinez, at halftime. In the second half, Vitinha’s goal was not enough for the Grifone to complete the comeback.

The'former coach at Sky criticized the Nerazzurri for the mistakes that led to the ko with Simeone
"Difficult to keep the mood up after this defeat"
"A dangerous characteristic of Inter is that when it scores then it becomes flat and monotonous"
"She loses the determination she had before"

"When he has to score goals he goes full throttle and then when he scores he sits down, he becomes a dead team"

Capello points finger at mistakes that led to Atletico's goal in extremis
"You can’t give away matches like that, with a mark on the corner “roughly”"

"An absurd final gift that at these levels you can’t give"

"When you make so many changes it’s very difficult to hold positions"

"And if you don’t mark that kind of players well, the goal is very likely to be conceded"

Inter’s rocket start, which after only five minutes is already ahead: Esposito feeds Lautaro who from a defiladed position serves Bisseck in tow, who comes back and kicks with his left at the first post, surprising Leali. The guests go close to doubling the score with first Lautaro and then Esposito, before finding it in the final with a great conclusion by its captain with a diagonal left-footed shot.

In the resumption Lautaro tried twice but the first attempt with a sure shot was repelled by Marcandalli, the second was too central and easy prey for Leali. In 69′ Vitinha runs away from Akanji and Bastoni, skips past Sommer and halves the disadvantage. However, the hosts’final onslaught did not bring the hoped-for equalizer; rather, it was the Nerazzurri who came close to a hat trick with a header by newcomer Thuram.

Thanks to this victory, Inter leapfrogs to the top of the Serie A standings with 33 points, +1 ahead of AC Milan and +2 ahead of Napoli. Genoa, on the other hand, remains stuck at 14, just outside the relegation zone.
