Inter market, casting for defender: 2 names out of all

The need for a new defender for Inter is clear: at the end of the season the Nerazzurri will most likely say goodbye to Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij, both of whom have expiring contracts. The former will turn 38 in February and has had numerous injuries in recent times that have not allowed him to play continuously. In the last Champions League match against Liverpool, the seasoned center back exited in the first half with a muscle problem: “Francesco Acerbi underwent clinical and instrumental examinations Monday morning at the Humanitas Institute in Rozzano. The tests showed resentment in the hamstring of the right thigh” wrote l’Inter.
Stefan de Vrij is also at the end of his Inter experience and Beppe Marotta has been working for some time to identify the right reinforcement for Cristian Chivu. In recent weeks the name of Marcos Senesi has popped up, to which must be added the’hypothesis Oumar Solet. The former is expiring his contract with Bournemouth and negotiations for his renewal have stalled: Beppe Marotta is monitoring him very carefully and could place the heist, the Udinese defender has been an Inter target for quite some time. Solet combines remarkable speed with great physical gifts that make him dangerous in the offensive phase as well.
Bred in the youth ranks of Stade Lavallois, Oumar Solet in 2018 was bought by Olympique Lyon and, thanks to excellent performances, moved to Strasbourg two years later for about 5 million euros. In Austria the rocky French defender established himself permanently, then by mutual agreement with the club he dissolved his contract a year early and Udinese took advantage of it. The Friulian club managed to beat the competition and in January signed him to a contract until 2027. Solet quickly settled in Italy and his excellent performances did not go unnoticed by the eyes of Inter.
Inter’s defensive package could change considerably next season: in the summer the arrival of a new goalkeeper to take the place of Yann Sommer, whose contract is expiring, is very likely. At the moment the most quoted hypothesis leads to Guglielmo Vicario, an old acquaintance of our league now with Tottenham.
The’former Empoli extreme defender is having some difficulties this season and Spurs do not consider him incedible. Certainly, however, the London club will not sell him off: the request is 30 million euros, a figure that could be revised downward (although not by much) if the player pushes for a return to Italy.
