The’operation went as planned and now, the long rehabilitation period will begin for the Chiefs Superstar. For such an injury, it takes about nine months to make a full recovery. The QB will be forced to miss the entire off-season program with the team and his availability for the’start of next season is in doubt (the start of the 2026 NFL season is set for Sept. 10). “He&#8220will deal with it in a big way, just like he does with everything else” said Chiefs’head coach Andy Reid talking about the rehabilitation that awaits Patrick Mahomes.

He is not the first QB to go under the knife for ruptured knee ligaments. Tom Brady had the same problem but, when he got back on the field, he was able to win for four Super Bowls: “I’ve always thought that the faster you rehabilitate, the faster you can get back to playing the sport you love. I think sometimes people adjust. But that requires total commitment, and it’s the same commitment that great professional athletes put in to excel in their profession. When you go through the rehabilitation process, you need the same level of focus and determination as when you play. It is a tough challenge. One of the toughest”, his words reported by ESPN.

“I don’t know why this had to happen. And I’m not going to lie, it hurts. But all we can do now is trust in God and put our best effort into it every single day, again and again. Thank you, Chiefs community, for always supporting me and for everyone who contacted me and prayed for me. I will come back stronger than ever,” Patrick Mahomes’ words via social media.

The Chiefs will use these months to find the best solutions to prepare for next year. The goal is to have Patrick Mahomes back at 100 percent. In the meantime, the franchise will do all the necessary analysis to remedy the absence of its best man and still try to be competitive.
