Christian Scaroni extends with the'XDS Astana Team: "Here I feel at home"
Christian Scaroni, the XDS Astana Team’s most successful cyclist in 2025, has extended his contract with the Kazakh team for two more seasons. With the current agreement already valid until 2026, the new contract will tie him to the team until the end of 2028.
The Blue rider was the protagonist of a brilliant and memorable season, crowned by five victories and 10 podium finishes, totaling 2,399 points in the UCI individual world ranking. The Brescian rider’s major achievements include a stage win at the Giro d’Italia, overall success at the Tour des Alpes-Maritimes, third place in the general classification at the Arctic Race of Norway, and fourth place in the road race at the European Championships.
“This season has been unforgettable and I still have a hard time realizing how much I have grown in 2025 – admitted Scaroni. “The stage win at the Giro d’Italia still feels like a dream and it has a huge meaning for me. At the same time, the year has been full of other successes and podiums, as well as important results such as fourth place at the European Championships or eighth at the Clásica San Sebastián. At the XDS Astana Team I feel at home: this is my team, and I am happy that, in addition to next year, we have extended the contract for two more seasons. We still have a lot of work ahead of us to achieve the team”s new goals and personal goals.
