Ducati, Gigi Dall'Igna extols MotoGp project between triumphs and continuity

Gigi Dall’Igna, general manager of Ducati Corse, expressed all his pride in the achievements of the Borgo Panigale-based Rossa during Ducati in Festa, an end-of-year event held in Bologna on Friday, Dec. 19. The 59-year-old engineer is back, as is the entire Ducati Racing department, from the great successes in MotoGp in 2025, which confirmed the Redhead’s dominance in the premier class of MotoGP: “The story of 2025 is that of many numbers, many results that we managed to bring home this year, but I would like to focus on just a few of them” began Dall’Igna.
“A very significant number is the’88: it is the number of consecutive races, in MotoGp, in which at least one Ducati has been on the podium. From 2021 to today, and next year we’ll be already in 2026, we have built a truly incredible streak of results – explained the engineer from Vicenza. Then there is another important figure: for the third time Ducati wins the so-called ‘triple crown’. This is also a very valuable achievement, because in MotoGp we won everything that could be won: Constructors’ Championship, Team Championship and Riders’ Championship, plus we also had the best independent team. We really brought home every title available”.
.
“Another thing I like to point out is that all of our drivers have managed to get on the podium at least once, and four of our six drivers have won at least one race. This shows the overall strength of the project, the bike and the work of the whole team” concluded Dall’Igna, taking the applause of the audience in attendance. Ducati, this season, has won the MotoGP Riders’ World Championship with Marc Marquez and the Constructors’ World Championship thanks to the contribution of the other riders, from Pecco Bagnaia to Alex Marquez, passing through Fabio Di Giannantonio, Franco Morbidelli and Fermin Aldeguer.
Since 2003, the year of the first races in MotoGp raced with Loris Capirossi and Troy Bayliss riding the Desmosedici GP3, Ducati has won more and more successes year after year: the first Riders’ World Championship came in 2007 with Casey Stoner, then in the twenties of this century came the domination with the World Championships won by Pecco Bagnaia in 2022 and 2023, the one won by Jorge Martin in 2024 and the one won by Marc Marquez in 2025.
At the Constructors’ World Championship level, Ducati won its first World Championship in 2007, subsequently winning the titles reserved for the brands from 2020 onward, without interruption, for a total of six world titles. Four riders have ridden on the factory team’s Desmosedici GP25: in addition to starters Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia, Michele Pirro and Nicolò Bulega have also competed in two races apiece, replacing the injured Marquez in the last four race weekends.
