The Roman tennis player succumbed in two sets against the world number two, despite an'excellent performance
After the match Cobolli told Sky Sport about his feelings
"Getting on the field with Jannik was a privilege"
"He is an extraterrestrial", he said
"I think I kept him a little bit' on his toes, even if only for a little while"
"Today I realized I was strong and I enjoyed it"

Sinner has always beaten Italian tennis players since he debuted on the ATP circuit

With Cobolli was however the first match ever: "He was a player I missed as an opponent, he deserves all the success he is having"

“When you do two hours of training with a tennis player you play for two hours, but when you do it with Alcaraz it seems like only 20 minutes. He is giving me a lot of advice, and even if he doesn’t say some of it openly, I still learn.”

Then the Roman tennis player makes a frank admission about his level compared to Jannik Sinner’s: “One also has to be a bit realistic in life, one tries and works every day to get where he is but I recognize that Jannik is right now very far from me.”

On the aspects in which he thinks he can make progress, Cobolli responded as follows, “I can still improve on everything according to my team, there are things where I consider myself very strong but in others there is actually still great room for improvement.”

On the Davis Cup he won, finally, Cobolli tells a funny anecdote: “I gave the trophy to my grandfather but after a while he gave it back to me, in Rome everyone was stopping him in the street and he couldn’t take it anymore!”
