Dusko Ivanovic pulls the ears of his team after the knockout with the'Olympiacos

Coach Dusko Ivanovic spoke after his Virtus team&#8217s loss to Olympiacos: “That&#8217s basketball: sometimes you win and sometimes you can lose”.

“The important thing in these moments is to never give up. Instead, some players got down and because of that we didn&#8217t believe in it all together as a team. You can play well or badly, but you have to believe in it together, which was not the case for all 40 minutes of the game”.

“The problem was that in the second half we did not have good defense. We were soft, without contact and effective pressure unlike them. This way of defending made the referees always whistle fouls, but the fault is ours”.

“We allowed too many free throws or easy shots. Instead, they played with a lot of contact and tried to be aggressive and succeeded. In the last quarter, however, we reversed course by starting to defend better. In conclusion, we gave them too many easy points and we were the ones who conceded them” concluded the V-nere coach.
