Jannik Sinner is always training, and there is no Christmas or Boxing Day to hold him back. The days of the holidays were spent for the star athlete from Innichen together with his loved ones in Val Pusteria, but never really disconnected. And so, along with the embrace of his family, the former No. 1 on the ATP circuit also devoted himself to other things without ever completely pulling the plug. This is evidenced by the fact that he has not abandoned the racket for long, while still remaining all-around physically active. In fact, he decided to spend a few hours on the ski slopes, his other great passion. And girlfriend Laila Hasanovic certainly stuck around at the very least.

Then departure for Asia and then Australia

Posts made on social media by the two, but also by other people in the area, confirm this. And not only that. Even a 28-year-old ski instructor from Auronzo di Cadore, Riccardo Monti, was a direct witness to Jannik Sinner’s snow activities. So much so that he told the whole story to ‘Corriere della Sera’. “I had the great fortune of running into the great Sinner outside a hut. That&#8217s where he took a break between skiing. And he was extremely gracious, agreeing to make himself available to the many people who asked him for an autograph or a selfie” he said.

Contemporaneously, Laila Hasanovic also treated herself to a few days of quiet in Val Pusteria. In fact, her social media accounts were updated by several pictures of her walking in the areas that saw her Jannik Sinner born and raised. The champion, for his part, had remained operational until the’last possible moment or nearly so. Just before returning to San Candido he was in Dubai training for an exhibition match with eternal friend/rival Carlos Alcaraz scheduled for Jan. 10. After all, the new season of great tennis is looming for him as well: already on the 12th the Australian Open, which the South Tyrolean won both in 2024 and in this 2025 now nearing its end, begins.

Great effect, moreover, had been made by the meeting between Sinner himself and Roberto Baggio on a flight from Dubai just before Christmas Eve. The Divin Codino was returning to Italy after the Italian Super Cup, the world tennis number 2 as told by his training sessions. “Always good to see you Fenomeno”, wrote the 1993 Ballon d’Oro 1993 on Instagram, accompanying a selfie that sent much of the Italian and world fans of the racket but also of the ball into raptures.

Sinner meanwhile brought home another accolade with far from insignificant weight. In fact, a survey conducted by the YouTrend research institute for Sky TG24 elected him the most representative face in the country in 2025 according to the opinion of Italians. The tennis star beat off competition from, among others, Giorgia Meloni, Sergio Mattarella, Fabiola Gianotti, Lucio Corsi, Brunello Cucinelli, Bianca Balti, Cecilia Sala and Napoli coach Antonio Conte.
