Federico Gatti is busy recovering from meniscus surgery on his right knee, while in the background the possibility of his future away from Turin takes shape. Allegri would like him at AC Milan and, considering that Spalletti lo had alreadyevaluated him in the national team without remaining convinced, a separation between the defender and Juventus appears all but unlikely. Gatti and Allegri shared two seasons at Juve. In the first (2022/23), making his Serie A debut after his experience at Frosinone, the defender found little space: the coach often favored a three-man defense with Alex Sandro, Bremer and Danilo.

In the following season, however, Gatti carved out a starting role, winning over the environment with his grit, fighting spirit and sense of belonging. He scored four heavy and decisive goals (from the Turin derby to the last-second goal in Monza to the three-point header against Napoli) becoming one of the fans’ favorites. With the arrival of Thiago Motta, the 2024/25 season opened with Gatti as captain, but the armband then passed to Locatelli. Rumors speak of misunderstandings with the Italo-Brazilian coach, who will besubsequently exonerated.

Juventus is thinking about how to improve the squad through the winter market. Luciano Spalletti needs reinforcements to have more resources to draw from. The return of Bremer to the defense has restored stability to the defensive department and the possible recovery of Arkadiusz Milik (sidelined in the challenge with Roma) may have given the Bianconeri coach an extra striker to focus on. That is why, at this point, the idea could be to reinforce the midfield with a really top purchase.

The most talked about name would be that of Sandro Tonali. A column of the national team, the former AC Milan midfielder is doing very well in his new Premier League adventure with Newcastle. However, Juventus seems determined to give it a try, despite knowing that it will be decidedly complicated to try to wrest someone like Sandro Tonali from Newcastle (where he is also beloved by the fans).

The idea would be to try to put a technical quid pro quo on the plate that the Magpies would like. The right profile could have been Dusan Vlahovic but the Serbian striker, a known fact, is injured and, moreover, is determined to stay until the end of the season in the Bianconeri, so as to try to convince the club to renew his contract.
