Alpine and Nordic skiing, races scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 28

Sunday at the end of the year gives fans a busy day of winter sports, with skiing the absolute protagonist thanks to important international events involving alpine and cross-country skiing. Today, December 28, 2025, the calendar offers high-level competitions capable of combining spectacle, technique and great tradition.
In Austria, in Semmering, one of the most anticipated events in alpine skiing is staged: the World Cup slalom, which officially closes the competitive 2025. The competition is spread over two heats, with the first scheduled at 2:15 p.m. and the second at 5:45 p.m., the latter contested in the evening atmosphere under floodlights.
At the same time, Italy becomes the capital of cross-country skiing with the start of the Tour de Ski 2025/2026, one of the most prestigious competitions on the world circuit. The first stage takes place in Toblach and offers today a sprint in free technique, a formula that is always spectacular and hard-fought.
Qualifying is scheduled in the morning from 11:45 a.m., while the finals will enliven the early afternoon from 2:15 p.m. The best sprinters on the international scene will compete on the South Tyrolean track, in a race that marks the beginning of a long stage challenge destined to conclude, as per tradition, in Val di Fiemme.
