Rossato turns over a new leaf: flies to Reggio Emilia after Trapani's exclusion

Riccardo Rossato starts again with Pallacanestro Reggiana after the exclusion of Trapani Shark from the Serie A championship. Announcing the transfer is the Emilian club with an official statement: “Pallacanestro Reggiana announces that it has signed an agreement with Riccardo Rossato, 190 cm guard, born in Venice on September 18, 1996, until the end of the 2028/2029 sports season. Rossato moved his first steps in the professionals with Assigeco Piacenza, where he made his debut in Serie A2 in the 2013/2014 season″.
“From 2016 to 2018 he wore the jersey of Reggio Calabria, before becoming one of Scafati’s reference points: with the Campania club he played six seasons, culminating with the historic promotion to Serie A conquered in 2022. In the last year and a half he played in Trapani Shark, reaching the semifinals of the last playoff scudetto. An element of great reliability and experience, Rossato is currently on the Italian national team’s roster: his value is evidenced by his inclusion among the 17 players called up for the latest FIBA qualifying window, the first under new coach Luca Banchi.”
Satisfied with the Red and White coach Dimitris Priftis: “He is a player of experience and potential. This is an important addition to our roster that will benefit from his offensive skills. I believe at the same time that defensively he can also bring a plus to our system.” Rossato himself gave his first words as an biancorosso player: “First of all, I thank the club that strongly wanted me from the moment this opportunity presented itself.”
“Reggio Emilia is a historical square of Italian basketball and every time I played at PalaBigi I felt how difficult it was to bring home the victory, thanks to the great support of the fans.”
“It is a arena that I like very much and I am convinced that the support of the public will be fundamental. I’m looking forward to getting to know the whole red and white environment – society, staff and, of course, my teammates – with whom I’m ready to take the court, make myself available and give my contribution to achieve our goals together.”
