At 9 p.m. at the Vélodrome, Roberto De Zerbi&#8217s Marseille hosts Liverpool for a challenge valid for the seventh day of the Champions League. Both teams have an obligation to win, the French to be almost sure of making the playoffs, while Liverpool to get closer to the top eight again, taking advantage of the defeats of Inter Milan, PSG and Manchester City.

De Zerbi’s team is in 16th place on 9 points, and by winning against the English would be virtually certain of a place in the top 24, which would guarantee them qualification for the playoffs. The Italian coach decides to field a 3-4-2-1 with Pavard, Balerdi and Medina in defense. The usual Aubameyang plays in attack with Paixao and Greenwood acting behind him.

The standings smile more on the English team, which is in 11th place with 12 points: with a win it would bypass Inter, PSG and City, entering the top eight. Slot will still have to do without the injured Isak, so Ekitike will be in attack. In defense Konaté and Van Dijk will play as center backs while Frimpong and Kerkez as full-backs.

Marseille (3-4-2-1): Rulli; Pavard, Balerdi, Medina; Weah, O’Riley, Højbjerg, Emerson; Greenwood, Paixao; Aubameyang. All. Roberto De Zerbi.

.

Liverpool (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Frimpong, Konaté, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Szoboszlai, Jones, Wirtz; Ekitike. All. Arne Slot.
