Jasmine Paolini advances to the third round of the Australian Open: the Italian tennis player beat Poland&#8217s Magdalena Frech 6-3, 6-2 in a match characterized by two rain breaks, which occurred in the middle of the first set and at the beginning of the second partial.

In spite of the forced breaks and despite several problems with her serve (Jasmine conceded 14 break points to her rival, number 57 in the world), the Tuscan tennis player managed to impose herself in an hour and 40 minutes of actual play, qualifying for the third round.

Jasmine Paolini&#8217s next opponent will be American tennis rising star Iva Jovic, 18, number 29 on the scoreboard.

Paolini was fresh from her easy success against Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich, beaten 6-1, 6-2 in a match that lasted just seventy minutes. L’Azzurra aims to raise the bar further in a tournament that has seen her reach, at best, the fourth round, reached in the 2024 edition: then it was Anna Kalinskaya who defeated her, 6-4, 6-2. In 2025, Jasmine&#8217s tournament stopped a step earlier instead: in the third round the Italian champion surrendered to Elina Svitolina, losing 2-6, 6-4, 6-0.
