Ducati, Tardozzi reveals advice to Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia

Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi in an interview with Mowmag spoke about Pecco Bagnaia and the Piedmontese rider’s desire for redemption in 2026 after a 2025 to forget: “With Pecco we talked at length after the vacations. What I advised him is to disconnect and he did it with his wife, on vacation. After that when he returned from the trip we had a very positive talk. I think he reset the 2025 and understood what didn”t work, said the Ducati executive.

“I think we will find a very fit Pecco as early as the Sepang tests – assured Tardozzi -. Last year there’was something that didn&#8217t work after the first five or six races. After all, he won the third race in Austin and was always on the podium in the first part of the season. Then obviously something didn&#8217t turn the right way and maybe he demanded a little too much when things weren&#8217t so good that he could win. And he did not accept that he could not win”.

To Marc Marquez Tardozzi, on the other hand, advised him to think before some races: “The only advice I have given him from time to time this year is at the last minute, when the visor comes down. There you have to keep him calm and make him think, because you know that riders when they lower the visor sometimes touch a switch that disconnects the brain”.

“Marc usually doesn&#8220t do that, but I mean … because of the will to win that he has and because of his characteristics on the track and when he races, with so much will to win, sometimes you have to tell him ‘reason’. Which then he also does”.

This year radios for the drivers will be introduced for the first time: “I will probably be in contact with the drivers, although that is something we have to decide together with Gigi. Clearly we will be very careful”.
