The future of Kenan Yildiz and that of Luciano Spalletti could be intertwined. The current expiration of the talented Juventus player’s contract, set for June 30, 2029, does not represent an emergency, but for weeks now he has been working on an extension and especially an adjustment that would bring the Turk from the current 1.5 million euros net to about 6 million, a figure that would bring him in line with Jonathan David, now the highest paid player on the roster.

According to Tuttosport, the last detail concerns the signing bonus, an aspect that could be finalized in the coming weeks and that would also serve to definitively turn off the Premier League sirens. The officiality of Yildiz’s renewal could also represent an important signal for Luciano Spalletti, prompting him to anticipate talks about his own future. The coach’s position has always been clear: having arrived in the running in place of Tudor on an eight-month contract, he has repeatedly reiterated his willingness to talk about extension only at the end of the season.

Spalletti has, however, already convinced John Elkann, who is determined to make him the point of reference for the Juventus of the future regardless of how the year&#8217s turn out. Despite the mutual esteem, the Tuscan coach continues to hold back, not out of lack of confidence, but out of fairness. There is already a contract on the table until 2028, ready to be discussed: when Spalletti decides to sit at the table, Comolli and Chiellini will be ready to close.

Stephan Lichtsteiner meanwhile is the new coach of Basel. The former Juventus man, who is very familiar with the club thanks to his previous experience in the red and blue youth sector, has signed a contract valid until the summer of 2029.

The red and blue club has also hired Pascal Bader, who will fill the role of assistant coach. Lichtsteiner’s deputy comes from the youth sector of FC Aarau, where he coached the U16 after previously coaching the U17.
