Juventus market, sensational: Luciano Spalletti's former great enemy may arrive

Juventus soccer market: after Jeremie Boga and Emil Holm, the Bianconeri are preparing to complete a another major incoming coup in the final hours of the winter transfer window. And in this case, the name that suddenly emerged in the course of the day on Sunday makes particular noise. Not so much because it is a past symbol of the great rival Inter, but especially because his record with Luciano Spalletti was unabashedly stormy. We are in fact talking about Mauro Icardi, who could leave Galatasaray to move to Turin of all places.

The blitz, according to ‘Sky Sport’ would be concrete. Juventus urgently needs to get a center forward under contract, which would not be that Randal Kolo Muani on whom Tottenham is raising the barricades. Hence the decision to pounce on Icardi, also partly coming to meet the needs of Galatasaray, which will lose him in June for free if it does not sell him in the winter market session. The real knot, however, would be the replacement of the Argentine with another striker of the same level. A requirement that, in turn, the Istanbul club would also have little time to complete.

Another aspect that inevitably attracts the attention of fans and insiders is the fact that, in the event of a move to Juventus, Icardi would find Luciano Spalletti as his coach. Indeed, this is the same coach with whom the historic rift was determined that led the then Inter captain to lose the armband to Samir Handanovic in February 2019, only to leave the Nerazzurri the following summer with the arrival in Milan of Antonio Conte. The feeling, however, is that without the presence of Wanda Nara in the role of agent as well as life partner, relations between the Argentine and his coach may be more relaxed.

Icardi could sign a contract that would tie him to Juventus until June 30, 2027, thus valid for the second part of this season and the next in its entirety. However, the amount the Bianconeri would pay Galatasaray, who are moreover upcoming opponents in the Champions League playoffs, has yet to be finalized.

This is not, moreover, the first rumor of Icardi’s return to Serie A during these months. Already before Christmas there had been talk of the’interest in the Argentine by two other major rivals of Inter: Milan and Roma. To come out on top, however, could at this point be Juventus. Led, today, by that Spalletti who was the concause of the 32-year-old from Rosario’s farewell to the Nerazzurri colors.
