Pecco Bagnaia toward a 2027 farewell to Ducati: his options for the future

Pecco Bagnaia towards the’farewell to Ducati at the end of the year. The Piedmontese rider’s contract will expire at the end of the 2026 World Championship, and every solution is possible for him except probably one: staying with the official Borgo Panigale team. According to rider market rumors, in fact, Marc Marquez is set to renew his contract with the Rossa, while at his side from 2027 there will not be the two-time MotoGp world champion Bagnaia but Pedro Acosta, who would by now have reached a total agreement with the team.
There would be no room for Bagnaia, who is looking around and the options are many: a move to VR46 at the court of master-friend Valentino Rossi is possible, but the Piedmontese rider might prefer a transfer to an official team such as Honda or Yamaha. The doors of L’Aprilia also remain open, where he would find the’Academy friend Marco Bezzecchi.
On the situation of Bagnaia also spoke the’former centaur Jorge Lorenzo: “Unfortunately in this sport you are worth as much as your last race or, in this case, your last season. And paradoxically Alex Márquez almost nobody wanted him a year and a half ago. Now a lot of people want him. Instead Bagnaia: before everyone wanted him, Ducati renewed him with a big contract”.
“He is Italian, two-time world champion. No one had ever won two titles with Ducati, not even Stoner. His value was very high. Unfortunately in this sport… motorcycling is like that” are the words to Gpone.
Pedro Acosta has reportedly reached an agreement with Ducati for the 2027 and 2028 seasons: the Spanish centaur in his first two years in MotoGP raced with KTM, qualifying fourth overall last season.
