Perugia, knee sprain for Yuki Ishikawa

On Monday, Perugia’s Japanese setter Yuki Ishikawa underwent a series of clinical examinations, including an MRI on his right knee, which was made necessary following his injury on Sunday. The incident occurred during the first set of the match played in Padua, when the’former Milanese player fell unnaturally from a jump, immediately experiencing pain in the joint.
Following the instrumental examination, the head of the club’s medical staff, Dr. Giuseppe Sabatino, provided an initial update on the player’s condition. In fact, the MRI confirmed the presence of a resentment of a distortional nature in the right knee, ruling out more serious problems at the moment, but making further clinical investigation necessary.
On Tuesday morning, Ishikawa will undergo a specialized orthopedic clinical evaluation, which will be carried out by Prof. Auro Caraffa and his staff. This consultation will allow a more precise definition of the extent of the injury, recovery time and the most appropriate therapeutic course to allow the athlete to safely return to the field.
