Aprilia, Marco Bezzecchi believes: his mission to undermine Ducati

Marco Bezzecchi with his Aprilia was one of the great revelations of the 2025 MotoGP season finale, and the intention is to repeat in 2026. If not, potentially, raise the’bar again. The Rimini man took to the track in Sepang on Wednesday for the second day of pre-season testing, showing all his optimism. Mixed, however, with the necessary caution as he awaits the final fine-tuning of all the new features by the Noale engineers. All while the stopwatch places him in sixth place overall for the day.

The House of Noale has reached 302 victories, confirming itself as the most successful European manufacturer in MotoGP.

The RS-GP26 features improvements in aerodynamics, cycling, electronics and V4 engine developed by Noale's technical department.
It will be the fastest prototype ever built by Aprilia, the last evolution before the new technical regulation 2027.
The Trackhouse project with Fernández and Ogura continues as a strategic partner for the development of the RS-GP.

“Right now everything is going pretty well, so I’m really very happy – explained Bezzecchi at the end of the day -. However, we still have a lot of work to do, so it’s important to keep our feet on the ground. On this we have to be clear. We still have to try different things, the more we can do the better. That way we can dedicate the’last day of testing here in Sepang to doing some slightly longer runs. This is also something we definitely need to do, so we can understand how the tires”.

On the track also the Ducati that, in particular with Pecco Bagnaia, breathes in turn air of great optimism. The Piedmontese rider, back from a 2025 that saw him mowed down by problems, seems to have resolved the braking woes that marked his entire past season. “Already it is positive, compared to 2025, to be able to drive by pushing – smiled the Piedmontese -. In the morning came very good times, moreover while we were running in race configuration. Not having lapped in the afternoon we moreover kept a tire, useful for doing time attacks on Thursday. I think everyone’s benchmarks will definitely”.

The real hope, not even too unspoken, however, is to get back into the title fight with teammate Marc Marquez. “Getting back to the top is a thought that gives me a good taste in my mouth. It charges me a lot, and I want to live 100% this feeling”, indeed admitted a sly Pecco Bagnaia at the end of the day.

Then Bagnaia analyzed the reasons for his Sepang Wednesday optimism: “Like yesterday, it was a good day. This morning I tried the new parts that came in and found a new advantage. Among other things, the weather was also good, too bad for the afternoon rain that prevented us from finishing this test”.
