A world champion for Bayern Munich, big opportunity for the'summer

So far, Tottenham’s season can be described as very disappointing: the team coached by Thomas Franck, despite a high-level squad, is only 14th in the Premier League, and the latest market session has fueled discontent among fans and others. In recent days Cristian Romero has publicly complained about Spurs’ buying campaign, and the move has not been welcomed at all by the club’s management.

According to the English press, Romero is very unhappy with the situation at Tottenham and, despite the fact that he renewed his contract until 2029 in August, he might even change his ways given the difficult relations with the management. Bayern Munich could consider buying him if Spurs sell him at an affordable price: certainly the Argentine would be a great coup for Max Eberl.

Although Dayot Upamecano has decided to renew, Bayern Munich is nonetheless continuing to sound out the market to expand the defensive department at Vincent Kompany&#8217s disposal, also in anticipation of Kim Min-jae&#8217s probable summer departure: the South Korean wants a change of scenery and could choose Italy (provided he reduces, and not a little, his salary).

Bred in the ranks of Belgrano, Cristian Romero landed in Europe thanks to Genoa, which bought him in 2018. In his first year in Italy the Argentine stunned everyone and in 2019 Juventus bought him for more than 30 million euros.

Thereafter Romero played with Atalanta where he established himself as one of the best defenders in Serie A.

In the summer of 2021, Tottenham managed to convince Atalanta to sell him by shelling out more than 50 million euros, and since then Cristian Romero has become a staple of the English lineup. However, the latest problems and the club&#8217s overall situation could convince him to move: an opportunity for many.

The defender made his debut with the Argentine senior national team in June 2021 and has since racked up 47 appearances and 3 goals. In 2022, he was among the big players in Argentina&#8217s World Cup victory and has also won the Copa America twice and the CONMEBOL-UEFA Champions Cup once.
