The star player decided not to take the field in the league match against Al-Riyadh as a form of protest against the ownership’s management of the club and the market. CR7 is reportedly concerned about the sporting direction and lack of decision-making power of the current management, with key managerial figures reportedly seeing their powers curtailed in his view. The Portuguese believes that his team is not receiving enough support in terms of reinforcements and investment compared to clubs such as Al-Hilal (a team coached by Simone Inzaghi) with whom they are competing for the Arabian title.

It seems that CR7’s form of protest has returned. The Portuguese posted a photo on his social profiles showing him with his teammates in training. In short, he would already be preparing for the next challenge with Al-Ittihad, scheduled on Friday, Feb. 6. Perhaps the desire to get back on the field is so strong that his requests to the PIF fund have been put on the back burner or, perhaps, his “needs” have been heard.

What is certain is that if he wants to reach 1,000 career goals, he cannot miss a single game. So, okay to have expressed his dissent but, in the end, what he cares about is being able to go to the net. Quota 1000 is close but you never know.

A goal that the Saudi Pro League itself also particularly cares about. The closer CR7 gets to the prestigious record, the more interest in the top Saudi tournament will be raised. Happy birthday CR7 and good choice to return to the game.
