After thousands of miles and many torchbearers, the Olympic flame is about to conclude its long journey. Today we will see it shining around Milan and, in the evening, arrive in Duomo, so that it will then be ready for the big party, namely the opening ceremony scheduled to take place at San Siro on Feb. 6.

Among the torchbearers who will carry the Olympic flashlight today are several very famous ones. Among sportsmen, Cristian Chivu, current coach of Inter Milan (President Javier Zanetti has also been a torchbearer), Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a Rossoneri manager, Federica Pellegrini, Tessa Worley, Alberto Cova, Shaun White (snowboarding legend) and even Francesca Schiavone and Flavia Pennetta (the two former tennis players will run together) will be featured.

After Snoop Doog&#8217s exploit in Gallarate, today other stars of music and beyond will experience the thrill of being torchbearers. Among them are singer Mahmood and chef Carlo Cracco. Coni President Luciano Buonfiglio will also have this important honor of carrying the Olympic flame. In total, 170 torchbearers will take the stage on the day (with a decidedly important security detail).

Then, on Friday, Feb. 6, the lights of San Siro will be turned on to kick off the long-awaited opening ceremony of the 2026 Winter Olympics. Barring any surprises, it should be Alberto Tomba who will light the brazier, surely one of the most anticipated and significant moments of the event.

A great spectacle is expected at the San Siro, with the intervention of many music stars. The Italian anthem will be sung by Laura Pausini while Mariah Carey will delight with the song “Nel blu dipinto di blu”. There will also be Andrea Bocelli, Ghali, Cecilia Bartoli and many other Italian excellences.
