Blu Basket Bergamo withdraws from the league

Blu Basket Bergamo with an official statement sent to the National Basketball League and Italian Basketball Federation has made official the withdrawal from the men’s A2 series championship.

“The Board of Directors, by a resolution duly passed on 04/02/2026, examined the economic-financial and managerial situation of the club (…) all reasonably exigible attempts have been made in order to ensure the continuation of the sporting activity in compliance with the Federal Regulations, the LNP Executive Regulations and the annual organizational provisions in force (…) the club formally communicates pursuant to and in accordance with the applicable Federal and League Regulations, its irrevocable decision to withdraw from the current Championship, effective as of today”.

“This determination is necessary due to the supervening and objective impossibility of sustaining future economic, financial and organizational commitments related to participation in the Championship, despite the adoption of extraordinary measures aimed at business and sports continuity”.

“The club declares that it is fully aware of the consequences envisaged by federal regulations regarding withdrawal from the championship – including any sporting, administrative and economic sanctions – and undertakes as of now to cooperate with the competent bodies for the fulfilment of any consequent fulfilment, also for the purpose of administrative and federal regularization of its position”.

“It remains available for any further communication, documental integration or operational indication that this League and the Italian Basketball Federation will deem appropriate to request.
