There were eight games played on NBA night. After wrapping up the trip East, the Los Angeles Lakers returned to the Crypto.com Arena and overcame the Philadelphia 76ers 119-115 at the end of a game decided in the last quarter, thanks to the stretch signed by LeBron James and his teammates. The King finished with a double-double of 17 points and 10 assists, but the real star was Austin Reaves, who exploded off the bench with 35 points. The negative note for the Lakers was the knee injury of Luka Doncic, who was forced off the court in the second quarter with a knee problem. Joel Embiid’s 35 points and Tyrese Maxey’s double-double of 23 points and 13 assists were not enough for the 76ers.

Pending the debut of Trae Young and Anthony Davis, the Washington Wizards surprised the Detroit Pistons by winning 127-117. The contribution of the bench was decisive, with Will Riley’s 20 points and Sharife Cooper’s 18. Standing out for Detroit was Cade Cunningham, scorer of 30 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. One of the league’s fittest teams is Charlotte: the Hornets scored their eighth consecutive victory by imposing themselves 109-99 on the Houston Rockets’ court. Rookie Kon Knueppel was the starter with 24 points, while the Rockets did not need Kevin Durant’s 31 points.

Victor Wembanyama dominated with 29 points and 11 rebounds and led the San Antonio Spurs to a 135-123 victory over the Dallas Mavericks, led by a 32-point Cooper Flagg. Outside blow also for the Golden State Warriors, who with a 22-5 partial turned the challenge around and beat the Phoenix Suns 101-97, despite Stephen Curry’s absence and thanks to Pat Spencer’s 20 points.

A basket with three seconds to go before the buzzer by Nigel Alexander-Walker handed the victory to the Atlanta Hawks, who overcame the Utah Jazz 121-119. Also noteworthy for Atlanta was Jalen Johnson’s triple-double with 22 points, 16 rebounds and 15 assists. Finally, the Orlando Magic, 118-98 over the Brooklyn Nets with a triple-double by Jalen Suggs (15 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists), and the Toronto Raptors, who overcame the Chicago Bulls 123-107 thanks to Brandon Ingram’s 33 points, won.
