Serie B: Monza recovers Avellino and climbs to second place

Monza’s big comeback victory in the Sunday Serie B post-match: the Biancorossi overcame Avellino 2-1 at the U-Power Stadium, in the match valid for the 23rd day of Serie B.

The reaction of Bianco’s team was immediate: the Monza coach inserted Cutrone, who proved to be immediately decisive, scoring at 78′ header the equalizing goal and his first goal in the biancorossa jersey.

Monza threw itself forward and in the final came the 2-1 thanks to Pessina on a penalty awarded for a hand foul by Fontanarosa. Thanks to this result, Monza climbs to second place behind Venezia, while Avellino is 12th on 28 points.
