Igor Tudor one step closer to returning to the bench

Technician Igor Tudor, after his experience at Juventus ended with his exoneration on Oct. 27, is close to sitting on another bench, this time in the Premier League, that of Tottenham. Spurs, which after the strongly negative results accrued under the Danish coach&#8217s management Thomas Frank, culminated with just two wins in the last seventeen games, decided to relieve him of his duties last February 11, would in fact be very close to putting the Croatian coach under contract, until the end of the season, as reported by Sky Sports Uk.

The decision to relieve Frank has matured at the end of a particularly difficult period, marked at home by a gradual departure from seasonal goals. Among the possible names jotted down in the notebook of the London management were those of Mauricio Pochettino, formerly in charge of Spurs between 2014 and 2019, and the Austrian Oliver Glasner, currently on the bench of Crystal Palace. In the last few hours, however, contacts with Tudor have reportedly intensified, a sign that the club is increasingly evaluating the Croatian coach’s profile to lead the team’s technical restart.

The parties have reportedly already come to an understanding: Igor Tudor, together with his agent Anthony Seric, reportedly agreed to a contract proposal with an expiration date set for June 2026. The deal would provide for an immediate assignment, with the Croatian coach called upon to play the role of ferryman in this final season, with the aim of bringing stability back to the environment and trying to revive Spurs, which is sailing close to the relegation zone, while trying to continue in the best way possible the adventure in the Champions League, where Tottenham is already in the round of 16.

Tudor’s experience at Tottenham is expected to kick off as early as next week, once all the bureaucratic formalities are completed. It is a position of great responsibility for a coach looking for the ultimate step up after experiences with hajduk Split, PAOK, Karabükspor, Galatasaray, Udinese, Hellas Verona, Olympique Marseille, Lazio and Juventus.
